One Year–Already!

Today marks our one year anniversary of officially moving into our new home here in St. Pete where we launched our new life, ministry, and adventure in pursuing the dreams God planted in our hearts.

So are we officially Floridians yet?  Dan and I have noticed that we do tend to take those side streets now instead of the highway.  When we first moved here we couldn’t understand it but the highways were completely desolate compared to up North. We tend to stop and have conversations with the cashiers at the stores instead of rushing off to the next errand. I, personally, look forward to BOGO  (buy one get one free) at Publix! If some place is 30 minutes away, we actually stop and consider the distance! (This one cracks me up because back home anywhere you go is atleast 30 minutes away) When the girls ask me what to wear–“Yes shorts and a t-shirt is fine!” Sandals or flip flops year round, except January and two weeks in February you can pretend you are in the North and pull out the Uggs and/or Northface jackets. Tropical Storms are no joke and it’s totally treated like a snow storm.  Except here in the South being cooped up in the house more than 24 hours is seriously a thing–Floridians are always out and about. Speaking of being out and about–the Gulf beaches never gets old and neither do the sunsets. Even Aliyah, who is now 21 months old, ooh and ahhs at the scenery of the puffy white clouds or the palm trees swaying in the gulf breeze.

So my question: Are we officially Floridians?  Nah–I would say 4 out of the 5 of us are still Northerners enjoying our new life.  But that baby of ours has completely embraced beach life:  running towards the waves and playing in the sand! 🙂

We have also had our share of disappointments and unplanned set backs but through it all our God has shown Himself Mighty, Faithful and Just and He has made a way when there seemed to be no way…and He continues to.

Tonight, we as a family will celebrate all that we have enjoyed and overcame this past year. To God be the glory!

To God be the Glory! or as Lys used to sing…To Dod be the Dory! This had been the song in my heart since Sunday. Every time I sing it I would feel His Presence so real and just stopped to praise His Name because He is so faithful to us in every way. I can barely get pass “How can I say thanks for all the things you have done for me” ……especially when I think of all the miracles for you guys– T God be the Glory!
