Worship Conference

This past weekend, my husband and I attended a worship conference that was hosted by National Community Church in DC. It was an incredible time to not only be in the midst of some dynamic Keynote speakers but also be lifted into His presence by the spirit-filled worship team. Can you imagine all the blended harmonies that were being sung in the room–everyone there was a Worship leader or a Worship team member.           As I look through my notes there are so many great quotes and scriptures that have challenged me/us. But one that I keep going back to is from Aaron Keyes, “the Cross Cleanses you but it also Claims you!”

Wow! So true, right? You are part of a family, He is your Father, you are His, you are not alone. Isn’t that awesome?

Thank you to Pastor Mark Batterson and the NCC team for an epic First Worship conference. Looking forward to the next one, for sure!

Need Peace?

This morning my husband posted this encouraging verse below and I just wanted to share it with you guys. I know everytime we turn on the television these days it is worrisome, sad and uncertainty rushes through our minds to see what the world around us is becoming but we can have peace.
Find your peace not in the uncertainty of this world but in the One who offers true peace!

Had to share this amazing heart-shaped cloud I saw in the sky, a reminder of God’s promise to us especially in these uncertain times..”Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 24:27)

Mommy, Mommy, Mamaaaa…

Do you remember when your little tiny baby would melt your heart with those huge smiles as you cuddled up to their chubby little faces and looked into their big bright eyes, saying to them, “maaaamaaa!”   You can say it, “maaamaaa!”  Well today happens to be one of those days where I wish I could change my name to maybe dada–they never really seem to scream out that one too often.  All I hear today is shrieks of “mommy, mommy” and a tiny voice from the one year old, “mama!”  All needing me right now! There immediate need is more important than  the other and I finally answer the one year old to hear her say with the biggest grin on her face, “hi mama!”
Tired and exhausted I think back to those days when as moms we just can’t wait for them to sit up, we can’t wait for them to crawl, we can’t wait for them to walk, we can’t wait for them to speak, we can’t wait for them to potty, we JUST can’t wait for them to get to the next level.
But as I take a break to blog/reflect and ignore the hundreds of requests that are coming out of their mouths even as I try to write this–I know I will miss these days when they get older.  I know that time doesn’t slow down. I know that every day that goes by is one more day closer to where they are learning how to be more independent, I know that each moment I pour into them helps them become more of who they will be, I know that every question I answer is another opportunity for me to teach or instill a lesson, and I KNOW one day may come when I might miss hearing them yell, “mommy, mommy, mamaaaa!”

How it all began for me:
Writing has been something that has had a special place in my heart since I was very young but I just never really thought of pursuing it.  Two years ago I started my first blog post with the encouragement of my husband to document our adventure as we were heading into full time ministry. I rose to the challenge and found that my posts were geared to young moms who were trying to figure out this thing called, “motherhood.” As I started blogging more frequently I just felt in my heart that if my writings could inspire or encourage any and all readers then I felt this was what I’m meant to do for this season of my life.
This past year I have also started to write for Mami of Multiples as Tampa Bays Contributing Columnist.  Check out this site to learn more on product reviews, Disney insider information, recipes and other family friendly topics.
